Coffeeshop App Design

Challenge: Busy workers lack the time to take many orders at once from their coworkers. They don't have time to wait in lines and navigate complicated ordering systems.

Solution: Design an ordering app for CoffeeHouse that allows users to easily place different kinds of orders, including group orders, and get warm and fresh coffee on-the-go.

Low-Fidelity Prototype

Usability Testing

Using the completed set of digital wireframes, I created a low-fidelity prototype. The primary user flow I connected was placing a group order, so the prototype could be used in a usability study.

Findings from the first study helped guide the designs from wireframes to mockups.

Insights

  • Users were confused when sharing the link for the group order. They need easy access to the group order link.

  • Users need to know when an item has been added to the cart.

  • Users want to have easy access to the menu and the cart.

High-Fidelity Prototype

The final high-fidelity prototype presented cleaner user flows for placing a group order and checkout. It also meets user needs for a pickup, dine in, or delivery option as well as more customization.

Final Product

Through usability studies, I have ensured ease of access to key features such as the menu, profile, and cart, while making sure that the ordering type feature is clear and user-friendly.
